Guide on How to Clean Toys
A surprising 19% of men and 36% of women never clean their toys.

The Importance of Sex Toy Hygiene
Cleaning your toys is essential for two main reasons: it helps preserve them over time, like proper maintenance, and most importantly, it protects your intimate health.
Sex toys come into direct contact with the most delicate parts of your body. Proper hygiene prevents irritation, infections, and bacterial growth. This is particularly important when a toy is used on different areas of the body - for example, moving it from the anus to the vagina without proper cleaning can transfer harmful bacteria and cause infections.
If you share your toys with a partner or multiple partners, hygiene becomes even more crucial. Body fluids that remain on the toy can transmit sexually transmitted infections. In these cases, you can use a condom on the toy, removing it before passing it to another person, or thoroughly clean it between uses.
How to Store Your Toys
After each use, always clean or disinfect your toy before storing it. Keep it in a case or pouch (many brands already include one in the package) to protect it from bacteria, dust, and contamination. Leaving your toy on the nightstand among other items, like you see in the movies, is definitely not a good idea for your health!
How to Clean Them Properly
Always choose a cleaner that is compatible with your toy's material. On pureeros, you'll find only medical-grade silicone toys (a non-porous material that's easy to clean) and a range of natural, water-based cleaners that respect both your toys and your body.

Once cleaned, the toy will come into contact with your intimate parts so it’s even more important to choose a natural product - avoid all cleaners that contain substances that can irritate your skin, especially if you get easily irritated. Here you can find the cleaner from the Pjur line, which is clinically tested for female intimate health.
Cleaning your toy is very simple. Whether you choose a spray (have you seen the newest one by Pjur ?), a liquid or a foaming cleaner, put some of it on your toy, grab a tissue or a dry, clean cloth and rub its surface for a few seconds. Then, throw away the tissue or wash the cloth and place your toy in its case or bag.
It’s fine if you prefer to clean your toy only with water and soap, but be careful on the soap - it has to be delicate, otherwise it can ruin your product. If you fancy, you can also put your steel or stone toy in the washing machine, as long as it doesn’t have electrical components!
You must always sterilize your toy before its first use because they have just come out of a factory. Always remember to disinfect them as soon as they arrive at your place.
This may be silly to highlight, as almost all modern sex toys are 100% waterproof - but be sure to check if they are resistant to water before washing/submerging them!
If you have doubts about the materials and compatibility of the toy you bought, always refer to the instructions included in the packaging and the brand’s information on their website.
Always remember: cleaning, hygiene and attention to detail are fundamental to better enjoy your intimate moments, alone or with your partner(s).
