What is LUWI?
LUWI is a new dual method (hormone-free contraception and protection) made for women. The opposite of a condom, LUWI is made for a woman’s body and worn on the inside. LUWI is easy to use, disposable, and can be worn for 8-hours.
Made of latex-free, ultra-thin medical grade polyurethane LUWI is designed to provide more sensation and used instead of a condom. LUWI gives you the power to be in control of your health.

LUWI is new and that means the first time you use it you may have to explain to your partner what it is and why a condom is not needed. LUWI is effective for both partners and is used to replace a condom.
How it works
Fold the inner ring and push it up inside with your finger. The inner ring rests against the cervix to keep LUWI in place. If you are not certain it is in far enough, most often LUWI will be pushed all the way into place with penetration. The outer ring rests against the outer skin to form another level of protection. For anal use or for use with a vibrator the foldable inner ring is not needed and can be easily removed. For removal, twist before removing.
Efficacy
LUWI is 98% effective when used correctly and consistently for the prevention of contraception. LUWI is more effective than a condom for the prevention of STI’s because it also protects the outer skin.
